Claudio Ranieri has challenged his Monaco players to step up to the plate in the absence of injured striker Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian, who is Ligue 1's joint top scorer with nine goals, has a hamstring problem and will not be risked in Saturday's match against Rennes.
Coach Ranieri told a press conference: ``We won't be taking any risks, so he won't be playing on Saturday. We hope he will be back for the match against Nice on Tuesday.
``It's a small injury, but we have to be careful. Like all players, he wants to play, but he also understands that it's better to wait.
``Obviously, it will be much harder without Falcao, he's our goalscorer. But I'm counting on the others to give us a bit more.
``Rennes have a good attack and a very good midfield. I have told my players it will be very difficult.''
Third-placed Monaco got back to winning ways with a narrow victory over Nantes last weekend after a run of one point from three matches.
They go into the weekend five points behind leaders Paris St Germain and looking to maintain an unbeaten home league record at the Stade Louis II.
Along with Falcao, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco (ankle) is also out but Geoffrey Kondogbia, Lucas Ocampos and Fabinho are all available after suspension.
Rennes, who have Tiemoue Bakayoko back from suspension, head to the Principality in shaky form having managed just one win from their last eight league games.
Teenage midfielder Adrien Hunou told a press conference: ``Monaco is a great club that has taken on a new dimension with the arrival of players like Falcao, Moutinho and (James) Rodriguez.
``For a young person like me, it is a pleasure to play against the big names. We will try to take full advantage and make a great game.''
